 Job Title: Export Sales Manager – Paper Packaging

Location: Nairobi with frequent travel outside Kenya.

Gross Salary: 200k – 220k plus benefits

Our client is a leading paper packaging manufacturer in Kenya and the East Africa region.

They seek to hire an Export Sales Manager to develop sales and grow the external market for the company’s range of products.

Responsibilities

  • Assist, advise, and participate in the development of, and implementation of, agreed strategies which grow the volume and profitability of the business in the assigned markets/regions.
  • Design, develop, implement, track and report on sales plans including strategies which firmly place the company as the supplier of choice in these market regions.
  • Analyze all market intelligence reports and identify all new business opportunities to expand business and maintain an efficient portfolio for the same.
  • manage all communication with technical departments and perform various tests in products to ensure optimal quality of all products.
  • Design all export market rules and regulations to mitigate all risks.
  • Prepare all contracts with clients and distributors in accordance with countries regulations.
  • Maintain professional relationships with all customers and distributors and ensure satisfaction of consumers.
  • Develop a commercial organization structure which captures the essence of the opportunities identified and converts those opportunities to transaction by creating agents network.
  • Operate pricing price policy, quotations and price follow-up of range of products with all perspective clients and distributors with focus on winning business quotes,
  • Provide periodic reports on orders/volumes/prices/forecasting in line with company procedures and guidelines to the head of sales & and marketing.
  • Assist in the company’s credit control policy implementation when applicable.
  • Evaluate and discuss with the Production and marketing team about specific products for the foreign/external markets.
  • Key Markets include: Ethiopia, Rwanda, Burundi, Sudan, Zambia, Zimbabwe Tanzania & Uganda.
  • Perform any other duties as may be assigned by Management from time to time.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, international business or marketing. MBA is a plus
  • 10 years plus proven export sales experience within Paper Industry (printing & packaging) in the same role.
  • Proven background in selling to export markets
  • Strong experience with both Distributors and direct B2B sales experience.
  • Demonstrable experience developing and executing sales plans built on targeted strategies.
  • Excellent business sales skills (i.e. communication through writing, presentation development, delivery, and project management).
  • Strong knowledge of export and customs legislation
  • proficiency in Computer applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Aged between 37 & 45yrs .

 Job Title: Receiving Manager

Job Overview: The Receiving Manager is responsible for managing the receiving function and ensuring smooth operations of goods arriving into the store’s warehouse.

The role holder is also responsible for ensuring that the receiving activities are carried out as per the required standards and adhere to health, safety, quality and hygiene standards.

Roles and Duties:

  • Liaise with freight forwarders, Port and Customs Authorities to promptly clear imported merchandise
  • Ensure accurate documentation and verification of quantity, quality, type and weight of received goods and ensure the delivery notes are accurate in accordance with the physical stock received
  • Ensure that staff accessing receiving area follow the store receiving policies
  • Oversee the control of the returned goods and waste
  • Coordinate with the Maintenance Department to ensure that related equipment is in good condition and are properly maintained
  • Ensure the receiving area is correctly maintained and organized
  • Ensure control of the warehouse entrance, including validation of suppliers entering the warehouse
  • Ensure the upkeep of a recording process for all goods received in a timely manner for reporting and tracking
  • Ensure that all transactions are captured daily in the relevant system
  • Assist in implementation of the performance management process by setting objectives, monitoring performance, and provide constructive feedback and provide inputs to senior management
  • Provide mentorship for the purpose of developing a continuous talent pipeline for key roles
  • Provide inputs on training needs and coordinate with the HC department to ensure facilitation of training requirements
  • Develop and implement on the job-training for the team
  • Provide inputs for the development of annual manpower plan
